Having done much research lately, I find it surprising how many really great photographers fall short when it comes to their website. This is the first in a multi-part series on websites for photographers.

  • This is some pretty great advice, i am at the moment using 500px website template, i don't think you mentioned them on this video, but you have on ThePhotographyShow, they are really good. And reasonable priced.

I mean just for the ease of updating images its worth the money straight away.

And my domain name is registered for the next 8 years, which is handy.

all the double u's. photorory. c om is my website...

  • @Kal99 Very amusing comment. But..I'm glad some people know how to talk, and are willing to put some intelligence behind it.

  • Thank you very much.

  • For my website I just bought a hosting/template package from 500px.com. I just needed a simple layout that took my work off flickr and onto my own domain.

  • Where are all the links you said you would put in?

  • Always interesting Ted. Like it, thanks.

  • If you do a coding series you will ttract more views. I've spent years learning coding. DW Html, javascript. PHP

  • Great advice but man, this guy really loves to talk!

Wind him up and watch him go !!

  • Some good advice. I've had my personal name .com'd for a couple of years now, as you suggested. Just waiting to get a site together. Can you show some examples of good and bad photographer websites, so we can have an idea of what you are talking about? Already looking forward to the next few podcasts.

  • Awesome advice!
