Video documentation of this performance at Guling Avant-Garde Theatre, Taipei Taiwan.

by Lynn Loo with sound artist An-Chih
4x 16mm film projectors.

Description:
Raw colour film was partially exposed to different levels of light such as candle, stove, fire, room light, etc. The idea partly derived from seeing the beginnings and endings of colour film, a few seconds of colour fluctuations before arriving at the real images. I am interested in recreating this fluctuation intentionally and inviting chance as to how it is formed.

The original intention for the sound of End Rolls ( #1) comes directly from the fluctuations of light through the lens. Photo-sensory mics are stuck right on the lens of the projectors to pick up any flicker activities and translate light into sound.
