  • the bass line and brass accompaniments on this song are genius! In fact the whole thing is genius. Still my favorite KC song!

  • One of the best disco songs ever.

  • Just love this song and it's the first time I'm hearing it. I know all of their songs, but this one I never heard of until now. Love the beat and KC's vocal range.

  • This song went nowhere in the USA (a mixed-race band = radio-play problems) but in the UK went Top 10 in spring 1974. I remember seeing their "promo film" (aka music video) - filmed on a 1940s-style tiered stage - being shown on LWT's Saturday morning kids magazine show "Saturday Scene" (presented by a pre-Tiswas Sally James),

KC&tSB had many more hits in the UK and Europe but it took another 3 years before the band finally caught on back home in the USA (with "Boogie Shoes").

  • If this dosn't get you up,nothing will !

  • listen to the backing singer(s) the hold on the last afterthe chorus.....as good as bill withers lovely day...

  • THE BEST DISCO HIT EVER , JUST CANT KEEP STILL HA X

  • @spritualdiary

I know man! Big fan of HWC and RF! Glad you have such a great taste in music.

  • @crjaded

the bass groove came from Richard Finch, He was also co-founder of the band.

  • Saw these guys in concert last September. They played all the big hits (Get Down Tonight, Shake Your Booty, etc...), but I was a little disappointed when they didn't play Queen of Clubs. It was still a blast, one way or the other!

  • wondered who did the back ground singing ,and why like it so much as George M was/ is a big disco hero of mine..much better than please dont go...

  • that,s george mccrae doing the high notes in that song,i,ts the same year that kc and the sunshine wrote rock your baby originallly for gwen mccrae but the song suited georges voice better and wen,t on to become worldwide number 1
