I don't get it... Windmills and the like are producing loads of jobs, low-skilled and high-skilled for Britain? and it is also producing cleaner energy, something that European firms are good at and gives them a competitve advantage...

well we need all of the above in renewable energy, especially when it comes to briton, its not like theres a lot of solar activity , and instead of building these giant mills miles away we need better designed mills that can be put in each house and what the people want. Nigel defitnetley makes a good point because in the end all these is make more pollution ironically enough. so each building and house and home etc should be energy indepent instead of this landfilling madness.

It's not about climate something its about energy security which can only be improved if our dependency on oil and gas is reduced or at least fought against.

Wind power is the most efficient alternative energy source other than large scale water power plants. So its the one alternative energy source needing the least subsidies. (may I remind everyone that nuclear power gets huge subsidies, just as a side remark)

The green lobby and it's government's backers are hindering the development of new nuclear technology.

If wind power is the most 'efficient alternative energy' then we must look at other alternatives.

@Oijsen These windmills are not produced in the UK, there are only a few manufactures left, in Denmark and Norway ? The rest went bankrupt. The only jobs that these things produce is mowing the grass around them.

@smoochym uhm but if you build wind farms and nuclear plants that reduces oil consumption greatly. this is not just about climate change, it's about using up oil

@NatDemUK yah, what's wrong with dumping used oil in rivers too? oil came from the ground so who cares if used oil kills a few fish here and there?
