All lanes are 400m. If you can't win in all lanes then you shouldn't be a sprinter.

@Mickeldan2 Agreed, she had the 5th fastest qualifying time going into the final and deserved a better lane. Heck, Kaliese got a better lane than her in my opinion and she barely made it the final. This whole "lane assignment is based on performance" looks very suspicious to me...

Wow, Melaine managed to run under 53 seconds from lane 8 and got silver! I thought Spencer was going to be the one duking it out with Demus for the gold. Way to go Melaine!

The Olympics will be interesting, i'm sure both women will have to run near the world record to win...also melaine still has Olympic record and the world championship record. but good win by demus!!

@bigsmith4040 she was unfairly given lane 8 in my eyes, not sure how the lanes are choosen but, she finished second in her semi-final and got lane 8 to me thats crazy!!
