Wow the real Ken. Barbie wanted to make look different do much I forgot who the he almost was lol. Now barbie is more of a fairy or mermaid type now I'm 17 and I still like barbie I'll don't play with her anymore I only have the collectables.

I don't think I had this Barbie, although I do remember that another of my favorites had a shimmery gown in rainbow colors. I believe that was Happy Birthday Barbie. Hmmm, did they ever do a commercial for that doll? I can't remember ever seeing one before.

Yes, Happy Birthday Barbie from I believe 1981 and 1982 (which were very similar) had a rainbow fluffy sort of chiffon? skirt and bunched stretch top (kinda like a tube top) and it came with a little present in a box. After that, they made a Happy Birthday Barbie once it year (in a different outfit) I want to buy the 1982 version, which I had.

Yup, that's the one I had. I don't remember what year I got it, but it must have been one of my very first Barbies. Browsing on eBay, I see that the rainbow-colored dress came with the 1980 edition of the doll. I imagine that was probably on sale until 1983, when it seems to have been replaced by an updated version with a pink dress.
