Since Hugo Chávez became president of Venezuela in 1998, his government has eroded political and civil rights. This, made worse by a lack of judicial independence, has led to the political persecution of hundreds of Venezuelans, some of whom are incarcerated without access to medical care or running water.
The cases featured here are a sampling of those who are harassed, intimidated, and lose their freedom merely for expressing disagreement with the government.
You can make a difference by visiting www.TellChavez.com to tell Chávez to immediately and unconditionally release all political prisoners in Venezuela.
NO MORE LIERS!!!

Liars liars and MORE liers!!! When a man is charged with violating the laws as they did secure the United States were sentenced to the death penalty. These men carried out against the government plan to overthrow the democratically elected president as were the newly elected deputies and not talk to me that President Chavez handles the CNE because if so fails to put into these newly elected members. Patria Socialista (free from the lie of capitalist imperialism) o Muerte... Venceremos Win!

What a liers! They are not political prisioners but criminals.

Has anyone else noticed striking similarities between the Chavez and Obama administrations' stance towards the media?
