Tabinda Naeem, Urdu VOA News, Washington.

100 years ago, a newly born American Aviation Industry challenged women by saying, "Woman can't do it". That was until one woman transformed the skies into friendly and equal. Since Harriet Quimby earned her pilot's certificate and then crossed the English Channel, many American women have taken flight. Today, there are many female college students, businesswomen and fulltime moms in America who fly for freedom, fun and empowerment. We met with three such women pilots and asked them about their motivation, aspirations, gender difficulties and the process to become accomplished pilots. This story also touches upon the problems of pilot community after 9/11, the economic strain on the American airline industry and job opportunities in US General Aviation Sector. Jennifer Storm- Director Public Relations of Aircraft Owners & Pilot Association (AOPA), student pilot-Cynthia Manente and flight instructor Kelly Grafton at Aviation Adventures Flying School have been featured in this Urdu VOA Television feature.
