  • She is one of many incredible phemomenal women. Give this song a listen and you will agree the lady has it down.

  • @TDS4UT THE term ''owns'' is slang for no matter what, spiritually it is hers...ask anyone with a brain...i'm not speaking of legal documents broher......

  • @SDMFAnthony01 I beg to differ, my friend. By stating that because Aretha Franklin did such an outstanding job of singing the song that she "owns" the song is an opinion. If someone was to face a copyright infringement case on this song, Aretha Franklin has no legal rights to the song because she doesn't own it. Goffin, King and Wexler own the song. I have read that the writers of the song had Aretha Franklin in mind when they wrote it for her to sing, but she still doesn't own it.

  • @TDS4UT Maybe u should re-read my comment, friend...Carol wrote the song, but Aretha OWNS it...slang for made it her own, and people more likely associate the song with Aretha, and not Carol...only a fact, not anything else.

  • While Carole King did the Natural Woman which became popular with Aretha ... the same style of song and ,message inspired Amy Sky to make music for this awsome Maya Angelou's poem.

  • Thanks for sharing Ruthie Foster....Great article in Wood and Steel, Taylor Guitars Magazine and she is wonderful. Thanks again!!

  • @SDMFAnthony01The person who WRITES the song, and their publishing company, OWN the song. Aretha COVERED the song in singing it, but Aretha doesn't OWN it. Carol King OWNS part of it along with Gerry Goffin and Jerry Wexler. Singers do not OWN a song by doing a great version of it. Your girlfriend might sing it better, but she'll never own it. LOL! BTW, if you listen to the opening of this song and Natural Woman its the same. It's like George Harrison "My Sweet Lord" and Chiffons "He's So Fine."

  • @TDS4UT NO...i know what i meant. i meant ARETHA'S natural woman...not Carol's...Carol wrote it, but she don't OWN it...jus sayin'.

  • @SDMFAnthony01 Don't you mean, Carol King's "You Make Me Feel (Like a Natural Woman)." That was written by Carol King and sung by Aretha Franklin. Love it for what it is- and it is what it is.

  • how can anyone dislike this??
