I actually have a old VHS tape of it from when I taped off of Bravo (when they used to be a bonafide arts channel before turning into something else that needs an apology)...let me tell you: if you're a Metheny fan or a Coleman fan or both...you must see that performance. Look for it 1988 Montreal Jazz festival. It is un fucking real. One of his strings breaks during it. Intense. Metheny just takes it way further than expected...transcendent.
good god this music is so beautiful. it makes me want to cry. thank the universe for ornette. it don't get more pure
