Watch as a M1A1HC (Heavy Common) Abrams tank travels off-road. Watch the articulated suspension system in action (gun stabilization was not yet animated), self-shadowing, the randomized exterior equipment (individualized for each vehicle) and the advanced lighting effects such as sun glare reflecting off the various surfaces.

  • if someone's going to make a game with tanks, DON'T MAKE THEM JACKRABBIT! (kick when moving forward)

  • if the turret doesn't completly activated, the gun barrel doesn't stay on the target. as on the LEO 2a4, i'm pointer / loader in the swiss army

  • M1A1's gun barrel is supposed to stay steady and tracked to the target. That's not the case in this game.

  • Come on, Ya Treadheads out there. Lets not argue over the suspension or whether the gunner could hold its cross hair on target, etc. The whole Combat Mission series were not meant to be photo-realistic nor even close to current 3D RTS pretty. This is all about squad, platoon and combat team tactics. Let us just judge by how good the game holds up under such, not for the eye-candies, right? I think they did a pretty good job once they started patching it.

  • Are you kidding? Pro has no suspension model whatsoever. It follows the ground and thats it. Not that this is realistic at all, but Pro doesn't have anything except turning roadwheels and a sprocket.

  • I'm am also a tanker. The tank bounces around to much given the terrain. The front hull keeps dipping toward the ground for no real reason. Looks good but the animation is to bouncy.

    Look at a Steelbeast pro video for a well animated tank.
