  • James Burton started playing with Ricky Nelson in the 50s. He was one of the first few who used a Telecaster back then, and on "The Adventures of Ozzie & Harriet" show. He is known for his "chicken pickin" :) You can Wikipedia him for more info.

  • Chet!!! Unplant that finger you :) Haha jk u can do whatever u want

  • Gretsch was out of business for many years. So they didn't drop him he moved on to Gibson who made special guitars for him. Thew Guitars Gretsch made for Chet wqere exceptionsl > one reason they went out of business was their quality control was poor. Their workers were paid by the piece so they shipped out everything they could. The new Gretsch's are made in Japan and are much better and more consistint guitars then the vintage Gretsch's A good old Gretsch is a great guitar but hard to find

  • Smiling James!!! what a personality!!!

  • @roymack1 I am a big Gretsch fan, but I didnt know they dropped Atkins. If that was the case, its definitely sour grapes! Gretsch is a premiere guitar maker, and their guitars are phenomenal instruments. No question its sour grapes!

  • @sdonovan1994 As you may well know Gretsch "sponsored" Chet for many years, supplying him with guitars (free). After they "dropped" him he was quoted as saying that he would never pay for a Gretsh as they were crap! Was it the truth or sour grapes?

  • man james burtons solo is so good its like he accuratetly notated it before but you just know its just random bits of brilliance i especially like the lick that starts at 1:26
