elektra1984 - Could just be mainly due to the low quality audio. Sounds like it was recorded onto a rotating candle from a vibrating tin can with a nail stuck in it.
I absolutely love 'I Am the One You Warned Me of', nut that was from Albert Bouchard's Imaginos project after he went away from the band. I'd love to see this and 'The Siege and Investiture...' (along with Joe Satriani) done live, but that will probably never happen.
This version sounds tortured by comparison to the OYFOOYK. Too bad, this is a cult immortal.
Know exactly what you're saying brother. I just didn't want to say it first. To see & hear performances of Eric of the past & now just kills me. Eric's performance of this song on OYFOOYK(1975) is stellar. Oh how I wish we could hear the Eric of past doing "Astronomy" these days. Hopefully someone has a video of something like that out there. The "Live 1976" DVD is truly a disappointment in sound quality, although all the songs are there. Yes, immortal...
yeah sometimes i think Eric should more or less step up his game anymore or step aside...he is like a shell of his former self sometimes with less to give everytime i see them...JMO...BOC are the greatest but they should play more *new* material live now too; maybe i'm wrong...
thanks for posting -- 'the subhuman' is immortal
PS i wish someone would post 'i am the one you warned me of' ... =)
I saw them that year in El Paso along with Steppenwolf. Plus other modern bands.

Yeah..thats Allen, I read he may have left the group recently? But he was always a big part of BOC over the years.

Is it Allen Lanier on keys? I can't make it out.

what a song...the subhuman from OYFOOYK is probably my alltime favourite track with smoking melodic solos from the underrated Buck Dharma.
