Ever Essence - a prayer & poem

a prayer/song/poem I wrote to the creator/s of the universe for meditation. I hope you enjoy...

Deities of creation, please help me feel connection
To all aspects of being, to what is and what could be
For now I am adrift, lost in longing for direction
Away in the depths of darkness; come set me free

Deities of creation, help me see life as divine
Heal my aching soul and fill me with the courage to love
Completely, may I surrender and in spirit refine
Bathe beneath the beauty of the vast blue sky above

Deities of creation, help me speak only with truth
Keep my mind open, devoid of cynicism or reproach
Towards those I meet, even the foolish; the uncouth
Let love live lively within; the only honoured approach

Deities of creation, seers of life ancient and new
Remind me pain and sadness shadows the unforgiving
More so when I am down and my deepest thoughts are askew
May I raise a smile and spread goodwill amongst the living

Deities of creation, spirits of all great things on earth
Whisper soothing songs of peace to the world and those at war
Wake within me each dawn to stir my spiritual rebirth
May I breathe your ever essence as mine forever more.
