shes a true star! she really did know her comedy. i love lucille ball!

But that's the amazing thing about her show. Didn't they perform the show live like a play? So it's phenomenal Lucy Ball did what she did anyway

@ckri2 i thought that she said that!!!!!!!!!!!

@NFitalianGuy , I know what you're saying about the singers these days. It's easier to go up and down the scales instead of holding a note, so when people sing like that, they're kind of cheating. But practically every singer these days sings like that. Tune in one of these shows like American Idol and all the kids are singing that way. I hate it.
-
@Fgrandinetti , they did occasionally mentioned the kids, but it was rare.

It's a shame the children weren't seen after this episode. The series became guest
star of the week after this. Lucy was such a concerned mother during seasons 1 through 3-then, poof, there were none! Even when Viv came back no mention of
Chris, Jerry or Sherman. Bad move on the writers.

I love the color TV had backthen and now since they remastered it, it looks so much more vibrant. The white tree looked amazing.I just bought a pre lit allwhite tree and white lights and it looks amazing. The older shows knew how to make their Christmas specials really special. Now days the singers dont sing they warble up and down the music scales and it just isnt worth watching. Plus ppl rarely say Merry Christmas anymore its always seasob's greetings or Happy Holidays.

@ChaosTimesSix From many times of rehearsal, you get used to it!!!! Though it would have been hard keeping a straight face, I agree!!
-
she wore that dress in yours mine and ours on her first date with frank!
-
Yeah she knew she had kids. They were mentioned briefly in
Lucy Gets Caught in the Draft and Lucy the Babysitter
-
How could any of those boys keep a straight face?? I would have been laughing so hard. :)
2:52 lower right -- Dec 1965: very last appearance of Lucy Carmichael's son Jerry Carmichael, in this episode home from boarding school for the holiday. After this appearance, he completely disappeared Chuck Cunningham-like.

Well, it wasn't completely like Chuck Cunningham, who was completely forgotten. (Or the boys on "The Doris Day Show") But on "The Lucy Show," right up to the last season, Lucy did sometimes mention her two children, though usually not by name. You may be aware of the mistake Lucille Ball made in a 5th season episode where, as Lucy Carmichael, she receives a letter from "my son Jimmy" -- Jimmy, of course, being the name of the actor who played Jerry, not the name of the character itself.
