Kids of Mosul

During the deployment of the 2/197th FA MP's to Mosul, Iraq, unit members took time out from their daily patrols to play with, aid, and make friends with the local children. Most of the videos and pictures were taken by Spc. Alan Burgess who was killed by a car bomb on October 15, 2004.

wait a minute here..I was in 65 MP Co(ABN)out of Ft Bragg that left Mosul(Airfield)in March of '04,you guys took our HMMVs(M1114).we were living in barracks next to the wire close to the ugly mosque(oops)about 100 mtrs away,is that you fellas?

@LastUser1000 We arrived at the beginning of March '04 and took up housing in an old beat up "villa" looking place about 100 meters from the north fence line until the barracks along the fence line were emptied. Then we moved into those barracks next to the north gate.

We got Green (forest camo) humvees. The unit we were attached to had tan. Our got shot up and blown up a lot. We turned them in to the 3rd ID in Baqubah, Iraq when we left.

and why are they showing the poor kids only why don`t they show the normal kids in the parks with thier family or in shopping.

What a great video. This is what we did our first deployment. Made foot patrols around a city. I met so many people and the kids were great. A bit annoying, but very funny. Thanks for the memories.
