The key to a tasty fruit is a healthy soil. Carl Rosato of Woodleaf Farm is an organic farmer and sells fruits and vegetables at the Farmer's Market at the Ferry Building in San Francisco. Some of his projects include making an organic soil mix for urban farmers, establishing a learning center for organic sustainability at Woodleaf Farm, and, once the technology is affordable, making hydrogen for fuel cells. Interesting and lively, one can learn a lot from Carl.
Organic farmer is ideal for the individual...commercially it's impractical and even destructive to the environment. You need 3x more land for organic farming, and 10x the labor, almost all manual.
