New 3 month old Galaxy S2 started acting up on 01/01/12

12/31/11 - Constant Vibrate + Overheat
01/01/12 - Died. Blank Screen of Death. Won't Post.
1) Reseated battery - no post (normally reseating battery would at least show post).
2) hours after of letting it cool down.. it was able to boot up again.. usb did not work at that time. the 4 buttons were already unresponsive and were possessed.
I let it rest over night.

01/02/12 - USB started working again but the possessed button pressing persisted.

01/05/12 as of posting this video, it's still possessed. Have been unable to use phone for 6 days.

Video ironically taken using my pre-upgrade iPhone 3GS

01/05/12 - Called up ATT for warranty they said the back pink thing is a water indicator.. wth.. I got it like this.. I thought it was a reset button.

  • if i root this, will i save more battery life?

  • @stoopidvideo I use UnNamed ROM and it removes some of the apps that suck battery life so in a way, yeah.. if you're under warranty, you might want to look up how to root without tripping the flash counter. If you want to save battery life, try Juice Defender, it'll automate power use.. my phone works normally again.. but to be safe, I use Set CPU to slow down the speed if it gets too hot.

  • @TheChorrizo If I didn't get a messed up phone, it's pretty fast. since ATT won't fix it and Samsung will likely yank me for $400 if I sent it in. Basically if you get a phone, best bet is to check the water indicators first just in case something happened in transit or what not so you don't end up in a situation like I am.. I'm currently rooted with UnNamed ROM which makes it even faster and removes all the bloatware preinstalls.. so yeah.. the phone is great..
