Youth members of local arts collective are invited to teach and share their Orisha dance, drum and Yoruba culture. They make their own art work in traditional Yoruba batik and paint, as well as perform nationally in Nigeria traditional Orisha dances. • Yes, i will like to report this video as INAPPROPRIATE. The dance is not Yoruba neither are the drums and dancers. Yoruba dontdress and dance like this. We dont give blood curling screams when we dance. The language is NOT even Yoruba. PLS DELETE THIS SAD FAKE

  • @OluKris1

You can also see by the drums - in white and red - that this troop was led by Shango. But again, they had studied and were performing dances from several cultures in Nigeria so they would be booked for performances. Peace.

  • This, unfortunately, is not a Yoruba dance. It, at its best, could only be descibed as a sad parody. I am jealously Yoruba. It is so sad that those who know so little about us should fool the outside world like this. So sad.

  • @OluKris1

official Yoruba troop in Nigeria my dears. there are many, many dances here, one of which is Bata for Shango. There are also Hausa dances here, and others. So perhaps Yoruba is not the correct term for the title since there are myriad rhythms.

  • Thank You. I can't believe this has been posted so long, I search all the time for authentic Yoruba dance form. Now I will make my way there so my own children can learn their cultural dance. We do West African dance but not Nigerian-Yoruba, which is what we want......my prayers are answered. Omi
