Parents, students and supporters in Chicago's Pilsen neighborhood are occupying a field house slated for demolition by Chicago Public Schools. CPS says the building is unsafe, and they want to demolish it and use the land for a soccer field for a nearby private Jesuit school. Whittier School uses the Field House as a library and meeting place, and want to keep the building.
My school was built through the strength of struggle. If it were not for some citizens of my community, I would have to go through miles, to go to school daily. I can understand how much Whittier needs a library. I am fighting for Whittier! :)
Pilsen you deserve a chance!!
