Did the old othuvars said he wanted to do teh puja ?? alll he wanted was to sing the Tamil vedas as per the pre-arrangement , but these Dick shits didnt allow they "blocked" the deity from othuvar's view and chanted sanskrit slokas and later attacked him ..

agamas - this were rules made by men (read brahmins) to control the religion by giving Brahmins the privilege .... FYI Dikshitars were later day imports from N India by the then ruling Chola king. they were never part of the temple history since its inception. Btw bhakti transcends agamic rituals get tat into ur head .

As per the 'agama' rules, sanskirt is the way to perform proper pooja. But 'we' people don't have to do, so we can sing in tamil.
Also, anybody will tell you its foolish to sing when pooja is being performed. How will it be when I sing thiruvasagam when you are singing thevaram at the sametime? You should co-exist. Arumugasamy wanted to sing when ritual was being performed and so he was objected. You or I can still sing, even today, outside the karuvarai, when pooja is not in process.

Its not about tamil self respect. According to shiva purana only adi-saivars are allowed to touch and perform rituals for shiva linga. They alone can enter the 'karuvarai'. You can by all mens sing thevaram but outside the 'karuvarai'. Not inside. Nayanmars sang the song, but they themselves did not perform pooja adhering to the rules. We should also follow the rules that nayanmars respected.
