DIY Guide to building a birdhouse. This easy to make bird box can be built in 1 day out of one 6 foot long 1" by 6" plank of cedar. Attract more wild birds into your garden (or provide for those already there). www.self-sufficient-life.com

  • how do you clean out the birdhouse after a bird has finished nesting or from insect infestation? you need one of the sides to open up then lock so you can clean out the birdhouse?yes?

    nice video btw

  • Thanks - This simple birdhouse design built from a single plank of wood does not include a lockable side for human cleaning (but then again neither does a real tree) but you are welcome to adapt the design any way you like.

  • it said 5 different kinds of nalis and theirs only 4.

  • It says you will need five screws and three drillbits and then shows a picture of the three drillbits and a drywall or deck screw - you need five of the drywall or deck screws.

  • SORRY=?? HOW BORING !! who want to make a crap like that ?? dont u have other thinks to do ? ....U NEED A WHOLE DAY FOR THIS ===??????

  • Glue needs time to dry....

  • Maybe add some info on box size and hole size. Different birds require different box and hole sizes. Wouldn't want to waste good wood on a house no bird will live in.

  • I made this house with my kid last fall. I'm completely inept with a saw and a hammer but it looks identical to the one in the video. This spring I have a pair of chickadees (I think) living in it. What a delight. Thanks for the video.

  • nice design - my son and I made this for a cub scout project - We used screws rather than nails - it was easier for my son.

    thanks!

  • On the East coast everyone says, "ruf" that doesn't actually sound like rough but more like the sound in the word "look".

    Look, rook, roof.

It difficult to say something is not pronounced right when you hear people speak English in say England or Ireland! It's madness.

  • That's a nice bird house there Cochese.

  • perfect for my sons birdhouse project

  • Nice one ,I made 3 and gave them as Christmas presents

  • You can remove the 4 screws attaching the floor to the box, remove the floor, and clean it. (Just do not glue the floor in when you initially build it.)

  • you mean like where it says 1 1/2"hole? or where he gives the measurements for the boards?
