IF anything, just invest in a ripping chain. Most chains are designed for crosscut. A ripping chain cuts faster and leaves a better surface. I had one that was carbide tipped, made a lot of difference if you hit nails or the silly things you can find that have grown in trees. Your table saws have different blades for ripping and crosscut, you can find them for chainsaws too.

I was thinking the same thing as jordan (below). A little sharpening or investing in a new chain would cut your time hewing the logs in half.

chain looks a bit blunt mate, should be spitting out chips not dust. Also try mounting a hand winch on the frame makes things a lot easier and only cost $50. beautiful timber, good work :)

I have a sawmill also, but it's a bandsawmill, you can check"er out at my channel if you think this wastes too much wood with the big kerf on this thing.
