Hello those wonderful few who are still reading my story! Well, as usual, let me start by apologizing. I've been so busy starting school, getting settled, starting work, all that, so I haven't had time to post. But it's been less than a month so I'm getting better haha.
I tried posting this earlier tonight, but it appeared to not be publishing and something... I don't know lol. So I thought I'd redo it just in case you guys couldn't see it. If you happened to see it before (it had no views I saw) this is the same thing. sorry about that.

"Your aunt and I will just go to the bathroom real quick," Olivia said, getting up.
"I'll be right out there if you need me sweetie," Aunt Dani added, kissing my forehead as she got up.
"Thanks," I managed to say.
Once they were gone, Violet took a deep breath and moved to the chair next to me saying, "Okay, listen, I know this is kind of weird, but I just wanted to talk and just make sure everything's okay. Because I do love your dad, but I also had separated parents and my mom eventually got remarried, and I know the situation's kind of different, but at the same time, I want you to be okay with me and my relationship with your father because I know what it can feel like to have a parent dating. And I also want you to know that I'm sorry if you felt your dad and I were sneaking around and if you feel you were neglected at all because of our relationship."
"Hey, don't worry about that. You didn't even know about me. So if I felt that way, it'd all be on Dad. And Dad and I already dealt with all that."
"Well, I just wanted you to hear it from me."
"Thank you. And I think we both care about my dad here. So, yes, this is a little weird, but I want Dad to be happy and you make him happy. I can deal with a little weirdness for him."
"You know, I'm hoping if we spend some more time together, it won't be weird anymore."
"Oh you don't have to do that. It's really okay. I know you're busy."
"Ashley, if I'm gonna date your dad, I'm not just gonna ignore you. Remember what I told you about my parents? Given my history, I wouldn't feel right not being at least a little involved in your life."
"Really?" I honestly hadn't expected that. I had thought we were just doing this for Dad's sake.
"Yeah, I mean, if that's okay with you. I don't wanna make you do anything you don't want to. But I'd really like to get to know you better."
"I guess we could try. I... I'm not used to this though. My mom didn't really date."
"Well, I'm not used to this either, so we can figure it out together, okay?"
I smiled. "Okay."
{Joe's P.O.V.}
I couldn't be happier. Violet and Ashley were getting along great. They weren't exactly best friends yet, but they had hung out a couple of times and seemed to be having a good time. This day, Violet and I took Ashley out to get ice cream, and we had all come back to the house afterwards. Nick and Olivia were out and so, after Ashley went up to her room, I asked Violet if she wanted to hang out. She had asked to see the photo albums of Ashley when she was younger.
"Okay, Ashley was possibly the cutest baby I've seen in a long time," she said when I returned with our drinks. She had the album from when Ashley was about 6 months to about 18 months.
"Well, you know, she is my daughter after all," I said, putting the drinks down on the coffee table and sitting down next to her.
"Way to make it all about you, like always."
"Ouch."
"Please, you deserved it."
"Fine, fine."
"Look at that," Violet said, pointing to a picture of Ashley, trying to stand on her head. "Ambitious little thing."
"Wouldn't expect much else, knowing how Ashley turned out."
We both laughed as she turned the page. There was a picture of Jessica on the next page, lighting a birthday cake. I felt a little awkward so I pulled back a bit and looked away.

What will Violet say? BAD BAD ending, but there wasn't anything better anywhere close. I know things seem pretty boring now and this was sort of filler, but I promise you things are about to get seriously shaken up really really soon.

FUN FACT: the keyboard tray on my desk totally fell off and we have it propped up, but unfortunately, it's not really level, so the mouse keeps moving down the page and to the left without me doing anything. It's kinda funny. random but it's what's going on right now haha.
