Image Metrics can revive dead celebrities and place them in current or past movies.
Lightstage is awesome but it's more like a 3D scan of the actor's performance. I don't think you can apply the motion onto another model.

It's funny, even these renders are nothing compared to the LightStage renders. Sorry, I just discovered lightstage last night and I've been researching it non stop.

This is the future of film. Avatar, James Cameron's new sci-fi film, will showcase this technology in December.
CGI has taken another huge leap forward. Perfect facial replication on a newly constructed face.

Yeah... that's the problem with these news clips - there's just not enough time to delve into details. All image metrics software needs is digitized video, and it can somehow analyze the video and export animation curves for typical animation software. IM is quite hush-hush about how exactly the software pinpoints different facial features, but once those features are found the rest seems pretty simple.

I wish have this at home one day! I could load any 3D model of any famous person and make real time anything!
