X Marks The Spot

Disney's Clopin Trouillefou + Pirates of the Burning Sea + Hannah and the Pirate Caves = Clopin and the Pirate Caves.

More than an entire weekend's worth of sketching and outlining and over seven hour's worth of shooting later we pumped out this one and a half minute short. Apart from what a pain it was to keep the camera consistent (what with having to move the tripod manually and all) this was actually fun to do, though this may partially be because I love the unique look of paper folding animations.

My hand should give you a rough idea of how small I had to draw each frame. Also check out my crappy nail polish job! (I kid, I'm too lazy to repaint them after one month).

@CircuitDruid Yeah, sorry, some bits went by quite quickly, and some of the images turned out rather blurry after the software was done with it, but I was required to show the hands flipping, so we couldn't get too close. The camera sometimes had difficulty adjusting the back light, too.

I love it! I've never seen anything like that before, and it's downright amazing that your put all that work into it. Oh course, Clopin was probably hovering over your shoulder the entire time making sure you finished it.
