You're right we don't! That's because we don't usually get so much of the bloody stuff! If we did, the govt. would be able to invest in proper snow precautions...but they don't and people moan because when snow comes, (rare as it is) we aren't prepared. I reckon, though, if the govt. spent many millions of the country's budget on snow, the public would be like "what the...why have you spent all our money on something that comes around rarely?!"
Therefore, I conclude. no one wins!

nice snow for darn sarrfff. bet its gone in a couple of days. we had 12" drop on us on tueday in the southern pennines and its still here, its way below freezing day and night and only gets a few degrees warmer when we get more snow showers. on the open fields over the road its up to ya knees, not seen it this bad for a long long time. the dogs love it tho

You're kidding! We had it for a couple of days and the county ground to a halt! Schools closed, hospital operating lists cancelled etc.... we're not great with snow.
