i have the 2 door 2.0ltr 2001 mdl and mine keeps up fine. i got 31's rock hopper gearing engine is tuned up nice and all the other normal gear bars etc there fun little cars. iv been across australia in it :) good value for money and 50% of off roading is having a good bit of recovery gear anyways the rest is good but you can get away with suprisingly little

does your zook have low and hi range gearing in it? as i have the 2007 model 2door 1.6l and it fails to have the gearing in it which is a huge let down
