Even as a child actress her talent had depth and brilliance. And she just had to be the prettiest little girl in the world. #Star #wellMissed

Wonderful clip! Even as a child she was stunningly beautiful. Amazing

Elizabeth Taylor always said she'd never really "acted" until "A Place In The Sun" because in all her other roles she was playing herself. In "Furious Love" they described her acting style as "reverse-method" where she would play roles that resonated with her and who she was at the time. It's almost poignant because later she said she was abused as a child and felt lonely without any peers on set, maybe that sadness is why she's tremendously convincing in this role- it was a pretty dark movie.

I absolutly love her hair!

@FantasmaLuna Yeah, I do remember the girl and her death. I read the novel when I was little kid, the girl's death is probably the only thing left in my memory about Jane's depressing and boring childhood.

*Liz. Excuse me.

@ilvtofku Helen (Lix Taylor's role) actually is in the novel and her character isn't trivial at all, being the only friend Jane ever had in her childhood who died at a young age.

Elizabeth Taylors incredible beauty and grace are what makes this small but pivotal role so important. She gave the ethereal sweetness to Helen's character that would sustain Jane until she could escape the cruelty of Lowood and Mr. Brocklehurst. I remember seeing this as a child and thinking she was like a doll because she was so pretty. God Bless you Lizzie and thank you for being our little English Rose!
No, Elizabeth Taylor plays Helen Burns, who actually is a very important character in the novel, and beautifully portrayed here, I might add.

@MariaCGMF25 To whom is this comment addressed? I don't see where anyone is suggesting Liz played a different character...

Is that all her appearance in the movie? Looks like a very trivial role(and I not sure it is from the novel) even though they gave her a closeup shot. Any way, R.I.P. Liz.

@ilvtofku This is not the entirety of her appearance in the film, and the character (Helen Burns) is from the novel.
