Perfect the way it is, then and now.

How could Paul not tell the difference between Why and Frederique? Women have different size breasts and smell differently not to mention skin moles in different parts of the body, and yes, facial hair patterns all differ too. Even skin texture feels different as well as manners of kiss and embrace...

Frederique (Stephane Audran) is so beautiful, so breathtaking erotic in this movie. I am still speechless...
Thanks for uploading!
I love french movies very very much - greetings from Germany

Meine Güte - das sollte unser Sergej sehen - toller Film.

Chabrol is not the kind to show much... everything is told in the manners, the way of talking, the symbols. And, anyway, this film is all about ambiguity. One of the best scenes, to me, is the bath scene...

Encore merci pour ce très beau film. Saint Tropez en hiver et il y a 40 ans rend l'atmosphère un peu oppressante. Formidable.

This movie could be done very better than it is now. It is too long, weak and boring.
Boringness starts already from the beginning of the film. It seemed to be accidently a middle-age woman picks a young woman(artist)up from the street: here we have no plot and no direction.
But thanks a lot for posting the movie.

this film had plenty of chances it didn't take4daring penetrating psychological dialogue-but avoided it.i'd've wanted why's submissiveness towards frederique2b more thoroughly explored, would've wanted to see a consummation of her bisexual desires4a menage a trois including paul and frederique.i'd've wanted her "love" w/frederique+paul2have soared2passionate heights in order4why2b shot down+betrayed:but these great emotional highs+lows were never reached during the film-which i wanted to see.
The Cannes Film Festival always gets me on these wild links. I was searching Claude Chabrol....and Isabelle Huppert...and voila...I wound up here. Vive la cinema francais!!!
