These are the deleted scenes from my Final Project, "The Unwelcome Visitor". These scenes were roughly cut together exclusively for Youtube, so they're not perfect. About half of the shots are muted, since you could hear me giving directions from behind the camera. Lastly, due to some formatting problems, this video is not in the best aspect ratio. You gotta love Youtube! :)
------------------------------
The following are explanations of both deleted scenes:

[1st Deleted Scene: The Original Intro]

The first deleted scene was intended to be the original intro to the film. My plan was to have the Protagonist arrive at UC with his mother starting from a garage all the way across campus. This was also where I wanted to introduce the Antagonist, who hid behind a vehicle to watch the other two begin their long walk across campus to the residence hall.

As you may be already aware, the project required us to make a film 3-4 minutes in length. This intro went on for too long, and it wouldn't of made sense to the audience if I made a few cuts to it. It also wasn't relevant to the story at hand. It's bittersweet that I had to cut it all out, since my favorite shot of the entire filming process had to be cut also (from 2:23-2:38).

[2nd Deleted Scene: The Original Bridge Scene]

The second deleted scene was an alternate bridge sequence (when the two characters ran across the concrete bridge). The Antagonist managed to get away from the Protagonist. The Protagonist stops on the bridge, and begins to look around for the Antagonist, unaware that he's hiding behind a bulletin board. When the Antagonist accidentally drops the Protagonist's iPod on the ground, he is discovered, and thus continues the chase.

This scene was left out of the film for several reasons. I originally had ideas for some comedic relief in the film, so I thought it would be funny to have the Antagonist hide out in the open. I also wanted to try out a dolly-like shot of McMicken Hall from the concrete bridge connecting CCM and TUC. Unfortunately, the camera shots were too shaky to use, so I settled for a pan shot of the Protagonist walking across. Overall, the scene didn't feel right, because it disrupted the flow of the chase. Just like the first deleted scene, it also didn't move the story forward.
