  • They could see about joining as EEA members like Norway, Iceland, Switzerland and Lichtenstein,

If Belarus or Ukraine enters in the Europen Union, it will lose its sovereinty. It's not confortable at all to be between Russia and EU. Maybe an aproach with the USA would be better.

  • Not likely to happen. Ukraine is governed by clans of oligarchs who have their own interests and are not likely to go for it. Neither Yanukovich nor Timoshenko will be pro Russian. I hope they will be pro Ukrainian at least. Furthermore while Russia is interested in having more friendly regime in Ukraine any talk of it joining Russia are just that talk. Neither Ukraine nor Russia are ready for such union.

  • I just did.

Stupid/Unrealistic comments deserved to be voted down.

  • It's unlikely to happen in current situation. EU neither has a will nor resources, both political nor economic for such an expansion. The benefits of such expansion are unclear while spoiled relationships with Russia and burden of 2 highly corrupt inefficient economies can be a final straw that will break EU's back. So think tanks are doing their job.

  • We understand why Ukraine and Belarus (pipelines to Europe). Guess why Kazakhstan (Baikonur and other space-troops). But why should Russia provide the rest of vore?

  • @RemiG2006

I'd like to know who voted against your comment.

  • Russia must restore its empire. I hope that it will be so!
