Greece: 98 Migrants Hospitalized During 39 Days of Hunger Strike

The following is a video about an ongoing migrant hunger strike taking place in Greece. 300 people, mainly from North Africa, are on their 39th day of holding a hunger strike in a push for the legalization of all Greek migrants, but the Greek authorities are yet to budge. As of this writing at least 98 hunger strikers have been hospitalized in Athens and Thessaloniki, and strikers have pledged to die for their cause.

I witnessed multiple people taken away in ambulances and saw the conditions of the hunger strikers. this comment is nonsense.

"The government agreed to give residency permits to those who can prove they have been living in Greece for 8 years, as opposed to a current 12 year rule, other officials said. This was a key demand for the men to end the hunger strike.

"The hunger strike ended," said Petros Giotis, spokesman for Hunger Strike 300, a group of activists backing the protesters.

"Their key demands have been met...They will leave the building with papers in their hands."

for one thing, these a refugees from north africa. many have worked for years and had legal status. they recently lost citizenship.

@lanagual duh they have done a lot in north Africa,I saw you left comment about 8 nonths ago ;-)Now its time for flipping US & NATO to stop exploiting their resources in the Middle East Asia and North Africa so they have better lives in their own countries which are full of oil and other resources. Mate, in Greece we have approximately 2+ million immigrants, legal and illegal, for 10 mil population.. No sane country would allow that, but we have all these so-called liberals that protest to any form of regulation about it.. These same people "tutor" the illegal immigrants towards protesting and extorting via hunger strike.
