Before there was Earnie and Bert there was Buddy and Jim. They lived in the same basement apartment where Earnie and Bert live and were also best friends. They were the original ambiguously gay duo. They were removed because of the same bedroom thing, it seemed just a little to inappropriate for the time, although 10 earlier it wouldn't have been unusual for two men to share a one bedroom appartment.
