Still baffled to why Sony said that the reason for not having BC for PS3 slim is because "People buy PS3s for PS3 games, while in fact that I have a library of PS2 games that I would play in the future.

Should my 60GB PS3 break, I am faced with a heart wrenching decision to either hope for another working 60GB PS3, kiss my PS2 games goodbye, or put up with having a second PS2 machine along with those memory cards that I hate.

  • bye a fucking ps2 dude

  • @maxskates156 I am not willing to fork out money for another piece of hardware just to play the games. However, what Sony is doing (they are re-releasing PS2 classics collection for the PS3, while at the same time, keeping the backwards compatibility off), I'd RATHER buy a used PS2 system then to buy the PS2 games all over again. But what I'd say, get a 60-gigabyte system. I don't want to have to put up with these memory cards and wired controllers and switch boxes.

  • The ps2 add on in psn doesn't fukin work I tried it in my ps3 slim and tried to buy san anderas and it didn't work Fukin sony shoulnt just put backwards xompablit to beat xbox 360 in sells so don't download ps2 addon on your. Ps3 it doesn't shit fukin work see my videos at TheCheatmaster45 rate comment subcribe please. I need the comments rates subcribers 5stars

  • @TheCheatmaster45 Well, unfortunately, the PS2 add on is not an emulator, but actually is a system (they should have had it built in to the system right out of the box), that enables online gameplay, or PS2 games that uses a hard drive, to utalise the feature as a hard drive image.

In other words, it's simply a PS2 hard drive emulator, not a system emulator.

  • Well i hear this rumor that in the PSN store you can down load this data on the PS3 slim that allows you to play ps2 games, haven't tried it yet

  • @Amaterasu234 I think you are talking about the "PS2 Systems Data" icon. Apperently, it doesn't work, as it only worked with the already BC system, used to play online PS2 games.

  • Sony figured out they can make more money without backwards compatibility, they don't give a shit about giving you good service unless it means bigger profits.

  • I Know you want to play ps2 games. Sony, WE ALL WANT U TO BRING BACK PS2 BACKWARDS COMPATIBILITY. For goodness sakes. Sony, this is redicuous. Your ps2 was the best selling console and you are just going to leave all your ps2 games in the dust. Thats not what a company does. Sony, i know the ps3 is designed to play ps3 games.

  • GUYS There are PS2 classics availble to download on psn EVEN THOUGH YOU HAVE A NON BACKWARDS PS3. I KNOW that.

  • Wow...You even SOUND like a geek, lol. "Well over a hundred and twenty games" you say? That's probably an understatement! I literally laughed my ass off! FAVORITED!

  • we have the same amount of games

  • Yeah definitely 246 toothpicks! Yeah definitely! Yeah yeah.

  • I love how you sigh, really shows your greif

  • you cant emulate its apart of the hardware

  • Correction is the greatest system ever made

  • Ps2 is one of the greatest systems ever made
