The Bill Cosby Show Opening 1970

Bill Cosby played Chet Kincaid in this 1969-71 TV series, one year after "I Spy" ended. Interestingly, Don Knotts also was a guest star in this one episode from 1970. Thanks to RTV for bringing back another great retro show.

ps - Thanks to some loyal viewer's comments, I can note that this is the second version of the opening (season 2, 1970-71), from a December 1969 episode.
Does anyone have the Season 1 version?

It's not exactly "tokenism" (news flash: just because a person isn 't - gasp - a white male doesn't make any job they get automatic tokenism). In the US, something like upwards of 25% of people AREN'T white (a number which will continue to rise), and more than 50% are women. People actually LIKE Bill Cosby, which no doubt has probably made him a well-known celebrity for 50 years. Steve Harvey, now that probably IS tokenism. He doesn't seem like a very nice person in real life.

I always think of the The Cosby Show as an 80s show so I was wondering if you meant Cosby. Anyway I noticed it too. The themes to both "Cosby" shows were similar, like remixes. Cosby (1996) was no different.

I always brought this up during the 'The Cosby Show' of the 90's but he used the same melody in 'The Bill Cosby Show' as 'The Cosby Show' just with Bobby McFerrin instead of Quincy Jones. Did anyone else notice that?
