Stephane Grappelli and Jeff Green soloing on Django Reinhardt's "Minor Swing" at Grappelli's 80th birthday concert. The objective was apparently to re-create the sound of the Quintette du Hot Club de France. Unfortunately, Jeff Green's guitar is poorly miked.

Jeff Green appears to be trying to look like Django Reinhardt here as well as play like him.

The other musicians are Martin Taylor, Marc Fosset and Jack Sewing.

  • Impossible!

  • Cheers Teddy,

I used to have copy of the whole event, which I recall was broadcast over two nights. I believe Jeff Green also plays Honeysuckle Rose with Grappelli at this concert.

  • Yes he did and I've posted that too.

  • He had to use all of his fingers to do what Django did with two!

  • @goshajazz Very hard indeed!

  • As a side note, it should be mentioned that Jeff Green is the brother of Gary Green, guitarist of Gentle Giant and Three Friends and all-around cool human being.
