Aug. 30 - Consumer advocates and legal experts are advising homeowners to watch out for scams as foreclosure rates shoot through the roof. One popular scam is the offer to help a troubled homeowner get a new mortgage, and at a closing, trick the homeowner into sign away the deed to the property.

  • In Atlanta also be wary of Walter C Woodyard aka Rock Woodyard. An "architect/builder" but in reality is a total scam artist! We must spread the word about these scam artists so they can not continue to prey on innocent hard working Americans!!!!

  • Only a dipshit signs legal papers without understanding them. They deserve what happens to them. Lawyers may seem like money grubbing scum, but they know the law. Get one. Pay him/her to look over everything. Then sleep easier.

  • Don't fall prey to fraud mortgage lenders. Get easy and legalized mortgage from IFG, Inc

  • Today, September 2010 one in 7 homes is either deliquent or in foreclosure. I'm sure when this video was made they had no idea it would get this bad.

if i was you i would stay in the house it is your right to stay you do what you want but i would stay and i think the bank or who ever has holds your mortgage( note) they have to show it to you, some don't even have it

  • I am in the state of Nevada and I paid $3000 to Coleman Law Associates for them to do a loan modification for me. After paying them and several documents they asked for, I found out that they never contacted my Lender and now I am in Foreclosure. I cannot get my money back and no one cares! I guess I learned a really hard lesson. But my house isn't worth the money I paid for it even with all the upgrades. I am walking away!

  • @dslcobra With the x-subprime mortgage worker using his moms credit rating to sign people off the title, do you mean the home owners once signed off actually did not fulfill their commitment to pay the broker their rent leaving him in financial trouble on his moms credit rating, or was it he pulling a sneaky over the person he was supposed to help? I am not sure if I had read it correct and am very curios about the situation you are discussing. If you could reply it would be greatly appreciated.

  • I fail to see how anyone can not know that their mortgage was an ARM if that was the case without them knowing it.
