  • by the way man.. are you the bass player? that's a feat to play that song...gj

  • @HAYDS510 Yes, I am. It was, and probably still is, the most difficult song I've ever played.

  • dude if i say 'this band is loud', its an opinion, might be loud to me but could be quieter to the guy next to me, hence my osbervation is an opinion as well as fact from my point of view, but could be a lie for the guy next to me, proving that this is an opinion

  • @junkattackjunk However, you still present the information as fact. You truly believe that the band is loud, and your thoughts on that are not wavered. You do not say "I think this band is loud" because THAT is an opinion. Because all opinions, as a rule, start with "I think," "I believe," or some other sort of derivative. Everything you've said here is a statement.

  • @TheMandusa an opinion is ones perception, to oneself it could be factual. but in the case of music, everyone has different tastes. It could be a fact that to that person, the singer sucks. and that would double as their opinion, and for them to state it as a fact from their perspective is fairly an opinion. However, i thought the singer was cool. That is a fact from my perspective. Art is different to your general case of fact/fiction because it lies solely in the eyes of the viewer.

  • where were we? i forgot....

  • @junkattackjunk Yes. I am. If you observe something, it is not an opinion. It is something you reason to be fact. If I observe, for instance, that this glass is empty, it is not being presented as an opinion, it is being presented as a fact. The same goes for saying "these vocals fucking suck." The information is not being presented as an opinion, they are being presented as a fact. Therefore, you are not relieved of anything. If you are voicing your opinion, you label it as such.

  • @TheMandusa yes they can, but they can also be opinions wich relieves me of any social contract impliying that i need to say 'i think'...ur seriously gona tell me an observation cannot be an opinion?

  • @junkattackjunk See, you are wrong again. Comments are observations and statements. Both of which imply that what is written is factual.

  • @TheMandusa actually that box i was talking about is called a 'comment box', this then in turn gives me the freedom of not having to say 'i think' since a comment is mostly either 'remark' 'observation' or 'criticism' the 3 could be opinions in it of it self, thus by default any text written is implied that it can come as opinion. and theres also the fact that i just dont give a shit...but interestingly enough ive decided to actually take time and reply, kinda weird...
