WATCH IN HQ.
Made with a budget of.... nothing, absolutely nothing. All props, costumes, equipment were lent to us from friends, the camera was college's, the locations were free to shoot in. Good stuff, no?

A man is pursued by armed thugs following an attack on a local drug lord.

Me and Gary Nicholson's (MunchyPotatoes) film coursework for A2. A five minute action sequence, complete with gunfights, chasing, blood, action, drugs, more blood, and stuff.

EDIT
WILL BE REEDITING, HOPEFULLY BOOSTING QUALITY TO HD FOR A SLIGHTLY NEW, FRESHER EXPERIENCE. WILL TAKE ALL THE TIME I NEED, USE HD STOCK COURTESY OF VIDEOCOPILOT, ADD SLIDE MOVEMENT, ARTIFICIAL LIGHT, SHELL CASINGS - EVERYTHING MISSING FROM THE ORGINAL.

Cinematography/Direction: Gary Nicholson
Editing/Sound/Music/Special Effects: Me

I edited this non-stop for two weeks. And that's "To get it done fast" editing. Granted, I could make it look better, and need to sort out the colour correction in places, etc. But Two weeks for five minutes suddenly gives me more respect for actual editors.

Enjoy.

Supposed to be an excerpt from what could be a full length genre film... although it kind of works on it's own I guess.

The prologue to a full length, Guy Ritchie style crime/british gangster film.
Aimed 50/50 at mainstream and niche audiences alike, with the mystery, ambiguity and enigma keeping the niche folks happy, and the action, blood and fighting keeping the Hollywooders excited.

Just a shame we resorted to the Film Studies Classroom for the flashback "drugden", it just made Me and Gary feel dirty.

SPECIAL THANKS TO: ANYONE INVOLVED IN FILMING, MAJOR KUDOS TO CHRIS FOR BEING SUCH A TROOPER, AND HELPING WITH FILMING, ALL THE ACTORS, THE GOOD PEOPLE AT THE QUARRY SWIMMING CENTRE FOR LETTING US LOOSE IN THE BOWELS OF THE BUILDING, ESPECIALLY THANKS TO JACQUI ALLFORD OF SHREWSBURY LEISURE.

  • I SEE SLENDERMAN!

  • @AliceofChains SHIT, WHERE? D:

  • Nice! =P.

Great special effects. Good camera work. Soundtrack was appealing. Great overall. Sometimes the sounds didn't work as well though, but applauds to you guys! Even more spectacular considering a budget consisting solely on hard work, and friends apparently.

Youtube 'BunkerAssault'. It too is a non-budget movie, but it has some cool action. Aside from it's non-budget, considering it's a faroese movie (we totally suck in the moving picture industry), it's extremely impressive as well.

  • Thanks for the comment! Glad you liked it, means a lot! (I know the sound effects weren't great, but royalty free fx only get you so far!)

I'll try and do a re-edit of this when I get a new computer, shinier effects, more "action-y" gunshots and whatnot :)

I'll have a look at BunkerAssault, too! :)

  • Well done. Good acting.

  • Oh, thanks! I'm almost done with the re-edit (better effects and whatnot) so, if you subscribe, or just keep an eye on my page, or add as a friend, i'll drop you a message when the new version is uploaded. :)

    Thanks again, Rob.

  • @RobCoxxy THE GUY WEARING THE MASK. ALL HE WANTS IS JUST TWENTY DOLLARS

  • Furburt approves.

  • Cheers for the comment! And in answer to your queries, there were a couple of reasons for the lack of moving slides and shell casings - one is that shit BB guns were the only ones we could get our hands on. Another is that I could have simulated slide movements and shell casings in After Effects, but due to severe time constraints and slightly too wobbly footage to do a decent job, i was unable. However, getting Action Essentials 2 soon, and remaking this, complete with shells and slide movement

  • Awesome vid, everything is spot on. love the arm snapping scene :) One suggestion though, to add more realism why not use Gas blowback weaponry, the actions are moving and the guns work almost like the real thing, cockable and have magazines. A few scenes with magazines ejected, maybe you could do a scene where some shell cases fall to the ground and make that movie familiar metallic sound.
