  • Not enough politicians with the guts to pass this bill. Posturing, that's what our government officials are good at, posturing.

  • But they may do it in Argentina...

  • Have you been smoking some o' that funny stuff? LOL

I tried it when I was 15 and it never really did anything for me, but if they want to legalize that little amount it certainly wouldn't affect me one way or the other.

  • When Mexican gangs financed by the drug trade move their violence north to your town you might sing a different tune. They're already executing hits to wipe out competitors in Atlanta.

  • you know whats really funny, if marijuana is legal, the DEA is gonna fail even more miserably, they make all of their money on marijuana,

nothing hard about finding a medical marijuana dispensary, parking in front of it, laughing and smiling while passing the plant towards the van,

nothing difficult about finding a sick person's house, breaking in, killing their dogs maybe, and stealing their medicine.

take that job away from them? what can they do? find criminals? actually do work? no way

  • i actually saw that today on the news. i think its a good idea.

  • This bill is the first step. Many states are introducing legalization bills this year but they will be pointless without federal decriminalization. Ron Paul 2012, real change!

  • I don't smoke it, because I want to be an upright citizen. You can't be a criminal and a good citizen. I use to smoke it when I was a young man, and I hope some day the government will get out of my personal business. I would like to smoke it. I would smoke it over a beer any day of the week. I'm just waiting for this simple plant not to be the factor that makes me into a criminal if I want to partake it. Choice!

  • The Arizona shooter, Jared Loughner was a liberal pothead. In order for a true mental illness to be diagnosed one must be clean for two years for brain chemistry to normalize enough for a proper diagnosis. The left is trying to blame it entirely on mental illness now that it has been established that he was a liberal. (see my About Me for link)

At first the left not only blamed Palin & Beck for the shooting but campaigned to revoke Palin’s right to freedom of speech.

  • @wogsland BECAUSE ITS ILLEGAL

  • I'm not a big fan of Barney Frank, but I agree with him and Dr. Paul on this bill. Rep. Frank has reintroduced the bill this session. It's HR 2943. Call your Representatives and tell them to co-sponsor this legislation. We have state and local laws governing the possession and consumption of marijuana, we don't need federal drug laws to do the same thing.

  • except that the civil penalty provided in section 405 of the Controlled Substances Act (21 U.S.C. 844a) may be imposed for the public use of marijuana if the amount of the penalty does not exceed $100.

  • Notwithstanding any other provision of law, no penalty may be imposed under an Act of Congress for the possession of marijuana for personal use, or for the not-for-profit transfer between adults of marijuana for personal use. For the purposes of this section, possession of 100 grams or less of marijuana shall be presumed to be for personal use, as shall the not-for-profit transfer of one ounce or less of marijuana,

  • You make a great point, but this bill they are introducing is garbage, wont make a difference at all until it is completely legal, which it should be.

  • I mean its too high to gain enough support to ever become law. I'm not saying that it would make bad policy, just bad politics.
