From what I've read, it was through Ian & Sylvia's rendition that minor chords were added to the arrangement - and through which most versions (including, most famously, Elvis Presley's) were rooted and based.

..Great Cindy!!! Love the voices of Ian&Sylvia, wonderful tune of Gordon Lightfoot an all-time favorite song.....:)) ...a situation I guess everybody is knowing exactly, the heart is pounding when looking up to the sky seeing a close friend leaving in a plane...... :(( love the beautiful Art Deco window at 1.50
