@omiswheretheheartis I understand that this was filmed at Sri Yukteswar's(Paramahansa's teacher's) ashram(hermatage) in India in the late 1920's. Sri Yukteswar is standing beside Yogananda(seated). The other people are students of Yuketeswar. The figure standing in the rear appears to be a female and may be Sri Ma(1896-1982).

I have only seen the photo until this footage.. and have always wondered who the figure is that stands in the background. ha.. I do not know why I am so curious on such a mystery! Ah..but anyway, thank you for sharing the footage!

I'm so thankful to have discovered this rare footage- something told me to search "Yogananda" here on youtube. I discovered his works about 3 years ago("Autobiography Of A Yogi"/"Man's Eternal Quest") and was simply BLOWN AWAY by what I was reading. The ENIGMA is that an Indian spritural teacher came to this country in the early 20th century to teach true Christian principals to a "Christian" nation. The light of his smile way truly beautiful.

If you are saying Paramahansa Yogananda is sitting on a pedestal, i would laugh out loud. He is more humble than you or I will ever be, or anyone else for that matter.
