There is no rule that says you must have a thumb hole. Most of Belmos balls do not have a thumb hole drilled in it.

actually, he doesn't. there's no rule against not using your thumb. look what mike miller did back in the 90's.

yea he does because in the next part he throws the ball with one hand.
