@toxicomental I think he was speaking from experience and saying that at that point they should be showing their family that if they don't come out then their family still doesn't accept them for who they are because they don't know. If their family doesn't accept them then they didn't accept them anyway. For a 15 year old who are living with their family and could be potentially sent to a camp to be taught to be straight then it seems to be a far more delicate situation.

I remember being furious at Mr. Savage early on in his column writing when he addressed hetero relationships.

So glad he re-focused and ended up where he is now.

But I don't think you got where he's coming from. Ultimately it's about societal responsibility and personal ethics. He's harsh in the way he says things, but the things he says make sense.
