"Kyle, can we just have a movie night tonight?" Morgan asked her boyfriend, already knowing the answer.

"No. You've known for weeks that we have that stupid launch party to go to for those Jonas fags tonight," Kyle said as he put gel into his hair.

"Yeah, but why can't we just skip it? Your dad will understand," she walked up and wrapped her arms around his muscular frame. If you saw them apart, you would never be able to picture them in a relationship together. Kyle was tall, tan, and very muscular. He had played football all throughout high school and was now on the football team at USC, where he went to school. He cared a lot about his image and what others thought of him. Morgan on the other hand, was the complete opposite. She was a petite girl; short with a very small frame. She had short brown hair, and was a film geek, which is what she was going to school for. She wore t-shirts that were screen printed in bright designs, skinny jeans, and converse almost every day of her life. The only times she didn't was when she had to go to parties for Kyle's father, who was the president of Hollywood Records, and Kyle made her dress up.

"No, he wouldn't understand why my girlfriend was being a bitch and wanted to skip his party," Kyle said. Morgan quickly let go of him. "I thought you like those queers anyway?"

"I do, but why does it matter? You never introduce me to them," Morgan snapped back. Kyle turned around, his face turning red with anger. "No, Kyle, I didn't mean to say it like that..." she said. She didn't need to explain herself. Before she knew it, the back of Kyle's hand smacked her across the face with such force, she fell down to the ground.

"Don't you ever talk back to me like that again," he stormed out of the room as tears fell from Morgan's eyes. She eventually picked herself up off the floor and began to get ready. It was already 6:00 and the party started at 7. She knew Kyle never liked to be late and she didn't want to make him angrier than he already was. She grabbed her black and pink dress from Kyle's bed, as well as her black flats and makeup and went into the bathroom to change. She quickly reapplied her makeup so no one would know, especially Kyle, that she had been crying. If he knew, this would only give him more reason to abuse her later on for being weak. She walked down the stairs to find Kyle waiting for her. She slowly sulked over to him, a small smile on her lips.

"Baby... listen, I'm really sorry about earlier. You just know my dad likes it when we show up at these things," he said, tucking a loose tendril of her curled hair behind her ears.

"I know, I'm sorry," she whispered, looking down. He lifted her chin up so she'd be looking at him. "It's okay," he gave her a quick kiss and they walked out the door and made their way to the party.

"Welcome, and thank you all for joining me tonight at my house tonight! We are celebrating the third record launch from three very talented boys whom we are extremely honored to call our own," Bob Cavallo, the president of Hollywood Records and Kyle's father said into the microphone. "They released their first album with us eleven, yes just eleven months ago. Everyone, please welcome the Jonas Brothers!" The three boys made their way up the stairway and gave little speeches, basically thanking everyone for their support and for coming to the launch party, and then went to join the party. The whole time, Morgan couldn't keep her eyes off Joe. He had always been her favorite out of the three, but she didn't dare tell Kyle. However, she didn't have to; he noticed her staring at him throughout the whole speech. He started getting angry, but tried shrugging it off.

All throughout the next hour, Kyle watched his girlfriend, as she kept trying to steal glimpses of Joe.

"Baby, why are you being so quiet?" she asked him.

"Lets go outside and talk, it's too loud in here," Kyle told her. Before she could answer, he grabbed her wrist and dragged her out the door.

"Ouch, Kyle. Let go, you're hurting me!" Morgan yelled as soon as they were out the door.

"Excuse me? I'm hurting you??" he yelled at her, throwing her arm down.

She instantly grabbed her wrist and started rubbing it, slightly nodding.

"Are you fucking kidding me? You think I didn't see you staring at that faggot ass with longer hair than yours in there!?" Kyle continued to yell. Morgan was silent. "ANSWER ME WHEN I SPEAK TO YOU!"

"I-I-I'm sorry," she said, her head still down.

"You're about to be even more sorry," Kyle said, winding up. Before Morgan could shield herself, Kyle had slapped her across the face, causing her to fall to the ground for the second time that night. She held back tears, not showing him how weak she was. He kicked her in the side as soon as she hit the ground, and then slammed his foot on her back when she tried to get up. She lay on the ground crying as he walked back in to join the party.
