Lovely video! After many hours of reading, Standard Poodle prepares herself to go to bed... and she doesn't forget to brush her teeth!

I wanna get a poodle for my mom but I don't want a small one cause it's a big house and I get scared on stepping on the doggy

  • @Suseth69 I'm sure your mom will love it ! :)

  • how do train them im getting a standard poodle in a month or to and want to teach him tricks like this also is yours a show dog x

  • @xxwigglypigsxx @xxwigglypigsxx Hi! Congratulations for you standard poodle!!! They are really easy to train. I suggest you get some DVDs from Attila Szkukalek (look up on google) and also take a look on Canine Horizon's website (look up on google). They are great!!! My standard poodle is not a show dog, she's a wonderful pet and love to perfomr tricks and please her owners :).

  • Great video. My family and I live in an apartment in new york city and are looking into getting a standard poodle. do you think its doable, given the dog would get an hour of strenuous exercise every day?

  • @lschoco Hi! Sorry I took so long to reply, I hadn't seen this comment, I'm so sorry. Maybe it's too late. Anyway, I think it's doable having an standard poodle if you exercise him everyday for at least an hour. You can also exercise him on a treadmill. In addition you should make a Campbell/Volhard test and choose a calm family puppy (not a working dog!). But remember: Poodles need mental exercise too! And they don't enjoy being alone all they long!

  • @missnars87 Hi! I love males and females. Both can be eager to please, loving, smart and extremely easy to train. Of course, dominant individuals demand a leader owner, but, if well leaded, will do their best to be the best, they are great competition dogs. Submissive types are easier to handle, will hardly contest your status as a leader, and will become great family pets. I suggest you do a Volhard Puppy Test and chose the puppy that suits you best.

  • Lisabela - I noticed your poodles are both female (I think) I am in the process of buying a toy poodle or Maltese and have been told females are loyal, quick leaners but that they are also independent - they will come for a pat then leave and they can be moody where as male dogs when neutered are playful loving affectionate but because they are playful get distracted for learning. They don't need to show independence. In your wealth of experience what do you think?

  • @missnars87 Thank you for you compliments! :)
