Minato didn't need a deity to stop another deity. Just his friends, and his life.
Even so, I don't think any protagonist in the persona series can be valued or devalued based upon their impacts, etc.
There's a reason why they are all silent protagonists.

Seriously? The only way you were able to beat Izanami was because you had her husband, Izanagi. It was a god vs god battle--otherwise, you wouldn't have been able to defeat Izanami. You couldn't utterly defeat Nyx in the same way because you essentially had a part of Nyx in you, so you just sealed Nyx off. Both battles were epic and came to justifiable conclusions. One boss or MC wasn't 'more powerful' than the other.

@Ryokugun2 Well we all know Nyx is as hell as strong then Izanami so that would conclude Nyx>Izanami.
But Izanami was kinda strong just not as strong as nyx and Izanagi>Izanami its like saying Cock v.s. Pussy HAHAHAHAHAH

No, Minato used his ability to create a wall between Nyx and humanity. In order to forge the wall, however, he needed to sacrifice his own life. P4's MC, however, did not face an "unkillable" enemy like Nyx, so instead of cockblocking the boss like Minato did, all he needed to do was beat the shit out of the boss. And as you could guess, giving someone a physical GTFO doesn't really require a sacrifice.

Do you really think that Minato has so far been the greatest MC of persona series. He got the overwhelming power in him from the beginning (that thing, "Death"). Do you think we can call his existance is that of paralell to Nix, i mean since that thing was sealed in him till he came back to Port Island and summoned it out. Although he died in the end, i think he is the greatest MC of Persona so far cos his abilities are figured to be so incredible.
