Stop-motion chess movie about the one of the most remarkable games in the 1990 World Chess Championship Match between Garry Kasparov and Anatoly Karpov.

The place is Lyon, France. The opening is the closed Ruy Lopez, Flohr-Zaitsev variation, one of Karpov's speciality. Kasparov temporarily sacrifices his queen in a tactical struggle, and wins brilliantly.

This is my second attempt at stop motion movies, there are still some problems and mistakes, but that's because it's very difficult to make a flawless stop-motion video! I can only hope I can overcome these problems in my future features.

Hope you'll all enjoy this one, too! Thanks for watching!

  • I don't understand the anger in some comments.

The author made a good video, combining a masterpiece of classical music and a chess match between two of the best chess players ever.

If there's anybody who need to get a life, that's not the author, but the assholes who posted stupid comments.

  • Very nice when pieces moved. This is a small animation film with stop trick but all the lights and the table are wonderful. So i wish you all the best. This is a great film !!!

  • @JalmeidaH Cause after Re1 the black knight in e4 will soon have to move leaving the black e5 pawn under a double attack that lead to its fall (and while material is still equal white will have a little advantage on development)

  • Hi there, can anyone please explain why at 1:28 the knight F6 didn't take the pawn E4? any thought will be appreciated. Thanks

  • WTH there ghost pieces ! lol musta taken awhile to do that
