Civil War struggente canzone di protesta contro la guerra del gruppo californiano GUNS N' ROSES. Pubblicata il 1991 nell'album Use your illusion II, nasce inaspettatamente nel corso del Tour della band che era solita suonare il riff del brano durante il Sound Check degli strumenti prima dei concerti, questo fino a che, un giorno, Axel Roses prese a cantarvi sopra alcune frasi che aveva in mente "Indossavi la fascia nera quando spararono all'uomo che diceva: La pace può durare per sempre" ponendo così le basi per una delle canzoni più belle mai scritte dai GUNS N' ROSES. Il testo crudo e realista suggerisce senza mezzi termini che le guerre "servono solo a nutrire i ricchi e uccidere i poveri". Lo stesso significato dell'espressione GUERRA CIVILE viene contestato da Axel nel finale della canzone pronunciando una riflessione tanto vera quanto lapidaria "Cosa c'é poi di tanto civile in una guerra" questa frase getta il silenzio su ogni inutile tentativo di dare una qualunque giustificazione alla guerra.

OH, I KNOW SO PERFECT WHAT IS CIVIL WAR IN THE REALITY ....1991 I WAS 19 YEARS OLD WHEN STARTED WARS IN EX-YUGOSLAVIA.......SLOVENIA,CROATIA,BOSNIA,KOSOVO...AND I SURVIVED HEALTHY IN MY MIND + BODY.....WAR IS SO STUPID ...BUT....
